Short-term individual counseling provided to help students with academic/emotional success in school. Referrals come from teachers, parents, and CARE/SST meetings.
CARE/SST meetings determine selection for group counseling. Topics range from social skills, self-confidence, study skills, to emotion management.
Monthly lessons taught in K-8 classes. Topics include emotion management, bullying prevention, high school prep and college & career. Second Step is the primary curriculum used.
Coordinate CARE/SST meetings for parents and SAP team. Gather academic information and help team determine best supports for student success in school. Parents, admins, homeroom teacher, school counselor and Mental Clinician attend SST meetings.
Oversee and advise a select group of students (7/8th grade). Daily meeting with PLUS leaders to discuss and plan school events, PLUS forums, and campus-wide activities.
Coordinate 504 Plan meetings with parents and team. Meetings are determined by SST team, pending referrals. Parents, admins, Mental Health Clinician, and school counselor attend 504 Plan meetings.
